Picot stitch is used when crocheting spines or leaves etc.

Yarn around the hook and bring the yarn through the loop on the hook, the first chain stitch is made.

Make 3 chain stitches in total. Insert the hook into the first chain stitch.

Yarn around the hook and bring the yarn through the first chain stitch to make a slip stitch.

The picot stitch is completed.
