First crochet to the penultimate step of color 1(yellow).

Yarn around the hook with the new color(blue).

Pull the yarn through both loops on the hook. Continue to work the next stitch with the new color(blue).

Once secured, we can fasten off the old color yarn(yellow), or keep it attached if we will be working it again soon that is called stranded color work.
